Sports wear giant Nike has launched a sports wear hijab for Muslim athletes.
The product is made from a lightweight polyester that features tiny holes for optimal breath-ability, and will be in three colors, black, grey and obsidian.
The pro hijab was influenced by several Muslim athletes including weightlifter Amna Al Haddad and figure skater Zahra Lari.
With the Islamic market forecasted to be worth more than $5tr by 2020, Nike has taken steps to expand largely in the Middle East.
“The Nike Pro Hijab has been a year in the making, but its impetus can be traced much further back to Nike’s founding mission, to serve athletes, with the signature addendum: If you have a body, you’re an athlete,” reveals the brand in a statement.
