Apparently, he intended to kill his wife and get her insurance worth $1.5 million.
42-year-old Jeff Lytle from Monroe Washington hired a hitman to kill his Filipina wife and their 4-year-old daughter, so he could collect their $1.5 million insurance money.
A man named ‘Shayne’ is believed to be the hitman in contact, who was willing to do the evil deed in exchange for half of the money Lytle will get. His wife has been identified on social media as Rhoda Mee Funtanilla Lydle from Abra in the Philippines.
He instructed the hitman to make it look like a ‘robbery gone wrong’, and do it after his wife’s shift at Walmart. However, Lytle accidentally sent the sinister message to his ex-employer, who immediately reported him to the police.
The text allegedly said: ‘Hey Shayne hows it going. You remember you said that you would help me kill my wife. I’m going to take you up on that offer.’
When interviewed by police, Lytle said that his four-year-old daughter might have sent the messages. He then said that he was only sending them to ‘vent’, and did not intend to actually go through with the murderous plot.
Lytle has since been booked into Snohomish County jail and is being held under investigation for two counts of criminal solicitation of first-degree murder.'
