Amazon's grocery store of the future opens: no cashiers, no registers, and no lines

Amazon is breaking into physical retail in a new way, with the introduction of its own retail store called Amazon go.


The online retail giant envisions a store without cashiers, it started testing its grocery store with employees in December 2016. Amazon go does not work like typical retail stores like Walmart or other supermarkets, it is designed to so that, an app will be used by shoppers, also called Amazon go, to automatically add the things they plan to buy to a digital shopping cart.

Shoppers can walk out of the building without waiting in a checking line.The store which opened Monday is 1,800 square feet, according to Reuters, and it's located in the Amazon office building.
