It’s On! Mayweather vs McGregor £500m Mega Bout Set for August......

Floyd Mayweather Jr has finally agreed a deal to come out of retirement to take on UFC superstar Conor McGregor in a blockbuster bout on August 26 in Las Vegas.

After much dillydallying between both camps over the eagerly anticipated showdown, they have finally reached a deal for a £500million mega-fight, which will be contested over 12 rounds at the light-middleweight limit of 154lb, Mirror writes.
It will be a first fight for ‘Money’ Mayweather in two years after he called time on his glittering career with routine points’ victory over Andre Berto in September 2015.
The former welterweight champion went (49-0) before bowing out, a record he shares with the legendary Rocky Marciano, and will get the chance to make it a perfect 50 when he hits the canvas with McGregor, who will be boxing professionally for the first time ever.
McGregor ‘The Notorious’ currently holds the UFC’s lightweight title which he won by stopping Eddie Alvarez in the second round last November.
UFC boss Dana White has claimed the Irishman will earn no less than $100m while Mayweather is expected to earn significantly more.
The fight had been penciled in for September 16 but the mouthwatering middleweight showdown between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez stole the same venue for that date.

Mayweather, generally considered the greatest boxer of his generation, earned about $800m in his career, including a whopping $300m in his much-hyped ‘fight of the century’ with rival Manny Pacquiao.
