Germany: Angela Merkel cautions Putin over anti-gay purge in Chechnya....(VIDEO)

The German chancellor, Angela Merkel in a visit to Russia after two years has called on Russia's Vladimir Putin to investigate recent reports of gay men undergoing various degrees of torture Chechnya, Russia.


In  a joint press conference with Putin in Sochi on the Black Sea coast she disclosed that she has received, “negative reports on the way that homosexuals are dealt with, particularly in Chechnya”.

“I asked Mr Putin to utilise his influence to protect these minority rights, as well as in the case of Jehovah’s Witnesses,”
