France: Emmanuel Macron, President Elect, to be sworn-in Sunday.....

France's president elect Emmanuel Macron's  inauguration will hold this Sunday, May 14, 2017. 

Macron took 66.1 per cent against 33.9 per cent for Le Pen. The gap is wider than the 20 or so percentage points that pre-election surveys had suggested. 

He will take over the realms of affairs of the state from Francois Hollande, the current president.

One of the major and immediate challenges he would have to tackle as president is to secure a majority in next month’s parliamentary election for a political movement that is barely a year old, rebranded as La Republique En Marche (“Onward the Republic”), in order to implement his programme.
