Facebook has kept to its words from last year in dealing with accounts that spread false news via their social media mediums.
Just ahead of France's presidential elections, Facebook has shut down 30,000 accounts found to be spreading fake news stories and spam in France.
"our priority, of course is to remove the accounts with the largest footprint, with a high amount of activity and a broad reach. The purge will not remove all accounts that are spreading fake news, but we know we have to keep getting better", says Shabnam Shaik Facebook's security manager.
