It is no secret that many artist declined to perform at the presidential inauguration. One would however thought Kanye West would be the first man to receive an invite at President elect Donald Trump's inauguration after their brief meet up when Mr Trump became president elect.
News from Mr Trump's camp sees Kanye as the wrong fit to perform as he alleged not to be American enough, according to the source.
Kanye West back in December sent shock waves across anti - Trump supporters when he payed a visit the Trump Towers in New York City to see Donald Trump. In a bid to explain his actions Kanye took to Twitter to explain the purpose of his visit.Which he says included multicultural issues.
According to Complex, Tom Barrack, a longtime friend of Donald Trump and the chair of his Presidential Inaugural Committee revealed why Kanye will not be performing at the inauguration.
He said, “We haven’t asked him. He considers himself a friend of the President-elect, but it’s not the venue. The venue we have for entertainment is filled out, it’s perfect, it’s going to be typically and traditionally American, and Kanye is a great guy but we just haven’t asked him to perform. We move on with our agenda.”
Now of course people on Twitter had a their opinions about Barrack’s statement. One person said, “Hip hop was invented in America and Kanye is from the Midwest. Sounds typically American to me.”
